Safety

According to the international transportation law lithium-ion batteries are considered hazardous materials. Therefore we’d like to stress the following aspects:

Jungheinrich uses lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO), which is currently the safest cell chemistry. From an ecological point of view it‘s non-toxic and harmless
All of our batteries have passed the UN transportation test

Full li-ion power at any temperature

The best option to open up the complete spectrum of applications with your Jungheinrich trucks: the configurable battery heating system for selected vehicles with 48V li-ion battery. Take advantage of all the benefits of our lithium-ion batteries, even in the low-temperature range. The heating solution guarantees full usability in the fresh, outdoor and deep-freeze range up to -28°C, including automatic temperature control when driving and loading.

FAQ about our lithium-ion truck batteries
What is the difference between batteries and rechargeable batteries?
There are basically two different types of energy stores: primary and secondary batteries.
Primary batteries can only be discharged once and cannot be subsequently recharged. Secondary batteries, on the other hand, commonly referred to as accumulators or rechargeable batteries, can be recharged. Strictly speaking, lithium-ion batteries are rechargeable lithium-ion batteries.
Why do we simply refer to rechargeable lithium-ion batteries as lithium-ion batteries?
The term "battery" has become more commonly used and is used both as a generic term for a rechargeable battery and for a non-rechargeable primary battery.
In other industries, such as the automotive industry, the term car battery has become commonplace, although strictly speaking it is a rechargeable battery. The same applies to forklifts and other industrial trucks. In our case, batteries are generally referred to as forklift batteries. Strictly speaking, therefore, the lithium-ion batteries in Jungheinrich trucks are accumulators, which are of course rechargeable.
In addition to trucks with lithium-ion batteries, Jungheinrich also supplies special battery chargers that, under the advice of our Jungheinrich energy experts, can be combined to create a perfectly designed overall system.
